Director of People and Resources

Thank you for expressing an interest in the role of Director of People and Resources at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

The Institute of Fundraising was founded in 1983 by a committed group of fundraisers getting together to tackle fundraising issues. A lot has changed since then, including becoming Chartered in March 2020, but the founding ethos remains at the heart of what we do – coming together to face the challenges we meet as fundraisers.

As in other areas of economic and social activity, COVID-19 has driven considerable change within the fundraising community over the last 4 months, with our members, as well as the Chartered Institute itself, facing significant reductions in income caused by social distancing. During this period we have played a key role in representing the views and sharing the insights of our members, and the wider fundraising community, with Government and other key decision makers, as well as moving swiftly to provide services, training and development online.

We have an exciting year ahead as we drive our inclusion agenda – both internally, working to achieve the next level of the Inclusive Employers standard, and through the fundraising community as a whole with the work of our Change Collective, a strategy designed to make fundraising a profession where everyone is the ‘right fit’.

We are looking for an experienced, people-focused, senior manager with significant financial expertise to join our senior leadership team and ensure we have the right people and resources in place to develop and deliver our new strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring we have the right approach to developing our staff and volunteers as well as ensuring our finances, CRM and other systems are developed and maximised to support our team to deliver our strategic objectives.

If you’re an inspiring and engaging leader keen to shape the future of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, we would really like to hear from you.

Yours faithfully

Peter Lewis
